The iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus has launched. Here's a run down of the new features

The iPhone 6s Plus has launched. Here's a run down of the new features

Apple has unveiled this years new plus-sized iPhone Plus - the iPhone 6s Plus. Like its sibling the iPhone 6s, the iPhone 6s Plus will come in silver, space grey, gold, and the new Rose Gold.
Read on to find out more about the iPhone 6S, including the iPhone 6S release date, pre-order date, UK price and all of its new features.

The iphone 6s Plus will be available for pre-order from Saturday 12 September (that's this Saturday!) You should receive your delivery if stocks can keep up with demand, on 25 September, which is when Apple says it will be in stores.

iPhone 6S Plus: design and build

Like its predecessor the iPhone 6s Plus has a 5.5in screen.
The most obvious difference is the new Rose Gold colour option, joining the gold, silver and Space Grey options already available.

Apple says that its phone may look the same as last year's model, but its iPhone 6S duo has achieved more inner strength. This time it uses a different grade of aluminum for its chassis, one that's also used in the aerospace industry.

They call it Series 7,000, and it's the same aluminum alloy Apple puts into its Apple Watch Sport. This material is designed to be more durable (hopefully preventing a repeat of Bendgate).

iPhone 6S Plus: 3D Touch

As expected the iPhone has gained a feature from the Apple Watch. You can do more than touch and swipe the screen. The touch screen is now pressure sensitive. For example you can 'Peek' by pressing lightly, or 'Pop' by pressing harder.

For example, you can 'Peek' at an email to see what it says and if you don't need to respond right away it will remain ‘unread’ in your emails - so no need to go into your email app and mark it as unread just because you aren't actioning it at that moment in time. If you do want to reply, you can click harder to 'Pop' to the email and action it there and then.
App icons will also become shortcuts so you can choose exactly where in that app you want to go.  For example, you can take a selfie just by pressing on the Camera icon, or you can press on the Facebook icon to update your status without opening the app.

Multitasking will also benefit from 3D Touch. Just press on the screen and swipe to scroll through the apps you've got open, rather than double clicking the Home button.

3D Touch works with a taptic engine for haptic feedback you can feel, just like the Apple Watch and the trackpad on the new MacBooks.

Faster LTE, Wi-Fi connections

Apple says it'll have the fastest forms of LTE Advanced, if that's supported where you live, and will also include support for the latest, greatest Wi-Fi networks.

Touch ID

The second-generation sensor promises to snap open the phone faster than before. Hopefully fingerprint authentication will also speed up.

Chip, a $9 dollars micro-PC shipping in 2016

The Raspberry Pi popularized the concept of the micro-PC with a compact, $35 no-frills device that didn’t even come with its own case. Now a new micro-PC threatens to make the Raspberry Pi look like a luxury model. Next Thing Co. recently announced a Kickstarter campaign for Chip, a $9 micro-PC shipping in 2016.

The company already has a working prototype with an earlier generation processor, according to Make. But Next Thing lacks the funds to place large enough orders with component makers. It appears a lot of people are excited about the prospect of a $9 micro-PC, however, since at this writing the project had more than 13,000 backers contributing nearly $700,000.

Philippines Internet Provider Wimax and ADSL Router Modem Vulnerable to Remote Hacking

More than 700,000 ADSL routers distributed around the world, including in the Philippines, have a directory traversal flaw in their webproc.cgi firmware modules, which can be used by remote attackers to extract data, including admin credentials and configuration settings, from the router’s config.xml file.

Using a free IP scanner you can scan unlimited  IP address  which you can open via port 80 or Web Browser  Port 22 for Telnet Access  Port 23 for SSH Port 443 for https access.

What will happen if your modem is being remote.

1. Your Internet  User Account Mac Address  can be clone and use it to reconnect disconnected modem which can be also  sell.
2. Sudden Change of Internet Speed , the  attacker  can switch your account to a lower speed . Imagine you having  10 mbps  and it drops to 2mbps.. If you have a Internet Shop this is headache.
3. Remotely Firmware Destroyed , this one is a fatal  for Wimax Modem of Globe and Smart Telecom you need a new modem. ( illegally can be repair )

Three Giant Internet Service Provider  in the Philippines

PLDT
SMART
GLOBE

 Globe Telecom

The most well known hacking now is Wimax Internet,  since  2009  to this day Globe Telecom Wimax  are easily to remote and generate  Mac  Address . Globe Telecom change its  authentication when it change or upgrade new Modem and Firmware.

Their latest wimax modem are Green Packet  known for OD Mac address and Simbase
Huawei LTE Modem  a Sim base  can be  Unlocked

However old Wimax modem like 622,  622i, 622m, 623m are still working they can be reconnect by changing mac address  via telnet and change authentication. New authentication have different password unlike the  2008 to 2014 the password is same of the user ID.

Advance user of Globe Wimax  or Unlimted internet seller  use customize firmware or config to protect their modem from remote access

Globe ADSL can be remote  get the user id and password  or switch the  account you can even change WiFi password remotely . They have 2 modem Prolink and Aztech. They have latest firmware  that disabled to view the password.

SMART

First Canopy  user  from Motorola remotely  access can be clone the mac , color code and transfer to a disconnected Smart Canopy. Until they upgrade firmware and change the user name Remote Access this kind of modem is a little hard and long process to do so.

Smart Mybro and PLDT HomeBro Green Packet modem can be remotely access and can be reconnect by change mac method. PLDT and Smart Change their authentication the use key certificate and pempem key method  and upgrade their firmware. Hacker found a way to copy these authentication certificate and key via remote ssh or telnet.

These modem can be change Firmware and its amazing it can also connect to Globe Frequency yes this modem can be connect to Globe Network.

PLDT

Can be remote access by default admin  can view user account old modem and transfer to other modem.
WiFi password is hackable if default password has not change.
They always upgrade there modem  latest  modem firmware like PLDT Fibr PLDT Home DSL  can not view user  account password , but still i can be remotely access.

Tips How to Protect your Modem
1. Change the default Admin and password

A 17-year-old schoolboy from Windsor, Berkshire, hanged himself after receiving a bogus email

Joseph Edwards, a 17-year-old schoolboy from Windsor, Berkshire, hanged himself after receiving a bogus email appeared to be from police claiming that he'd been spotted browsing illegal websites and that a fine of 100 pound needed to be paid in order to stop the police from pursuing him.

The scam email pushed the well-known Police Ransomware onto the boy’s laptop and also downloaded malware that locked up his system once it was opened.

As far as we all know, a Police ransomware of this type does not encrypt files and usually asks a victim to pay a small fine that last around $200 or €200. It’s normally much easier to remove the threat from infected systems by using dedicated tools specially designed to remove such infections.

Edwards was an A-level student with Autism, a developmental disability, that likely made him more susceptible to believing the Internet scam mail, supposedly sent from from Cheshire police, was genuine, a coroner heard on Thursday.

Edwards was so upset and depressed by the accusation and the extortionate demand that he hanged himself hours after falling victim to the crucial threat. He was found hanged at his family home in Windsor by his mother Jacqueline Edwards, who told the coroner that he probably didn't understand the implications of his actions.

"He didn't seem to have any worries known to me. I don't think he really understood," Jacqueline Edwards told the coroner. "Joseph was subjected to a scam on the internet, a threatening, fake police link that was asking for money," his mother said in a statement. "He would have taken it literally because of his autism and he didn't want to upset Georgia [his sister] or me."

According to Detective Sergeant Peter Wall, it will be almost impossible to trace the fraudsters behind the 'crude' email, but believe it may have originated outside the UK.

This is not first time when Ransomware has become deadly reason to take someone’s life. Over a year ago, a Romanian family faced same Police Ransomware threat and the Romanian victim hanged himself and his four-year-old son, scarring that his young son would pay for his mistake and his life would be spend in the moment of delusion.

Ransomware is one of the most blatant and obvious criminal's money making schemes out there, from which Cryptolocker threat had touched the peak, and cyber criminals have developed many Cryptolocker versions (prisonlocker, linkup, icepole, cryptobit) by which you have to safeguard your system.

Microsoft filed suit against Samsung

Microsoft filed suit against Samsung on Friday, claiming the device maker has backed out of an agreement that requires it to pay licensing fees to Microsoft for the Android phones it sells.

Samsung has not honored the agreement since at least last September, when Microsoft announced it was acquiring Nokia's devices and services business from Google, Microsoft alleged in the complaint.

"Samsung breached the license agreement last fall by refusing to make its Fiscal Year 2 royalty payment on time and then refusing to pay interest on its late payment, and is threatening to breach the License Agreement again with respect to its ongoing royalty payment obligations," says the complaint, which was filed Friday in federal court in New York.

Microsoft and Samsung have been meeting for months to resolve a disagreement over the contract, to no avail, Microsoft said Friday in an accompanying blog post.

"We don't take lightly filing a legal action, especially against a company with which we've enjoyed a long and productive partnership," wrote Microsoft corporate vice president and deputy general counsel David Howard.

"Unfortunately, even partners sometimes disagree," he wrote.

The companies entered into a patent cross-licensing agreement in 2011 under which Samsung would pay Microsoft to use its technology in the Android phones and tablets it sells.

But after Microsoft's Nokia acquisition was announced, Samsung decided to stop complying, Microsoft said Friday.

"Samsung began using the acquisition as an excuse to breach its contract," Microsoft's Howard wrote. Samsung did not ask the court whether the Nokia acquisition invalidated the contract, he wrote.

A Samsung spokeswoman said via email that the company would review the complaint in detail "and determine appropriate measures in response."

Since 2011, sales of Samsung-made smartphones running Google's Android operating system have grown substantially, according to industry research firm IDC. Samsung's smartphones, which include the Galaxy S5 and S4, now have a roughly 30 percent share of the global market,

If you remember Samsung pay Apple  more than 30 trucks or 5 cents  coins , how will Samsung pays this.

Microsoft Blends 5 Conferences To Create The “Unified Microsoft Commercial Technology Event”

Yesterday morning, the software company announced that it will end several of its standalone conferences, including its confabs for SharePoint, Lync, Project, and Exchange, along with its TechEd event. The five events will be replaced, and I promise that I am not making this up, the “inaugural unified Microsoft commercial technology event.”

The gist is that Microsoft is bringing its wider enterprise-facing events together, which is worth noting. The event will take place in May of 2015, in Chicago.

The company released a blog post on the change, essentially noting that its former conference structure had become dated — with increasing integration across products categories, having separate events was simply too siloed an approach.

As ZDNet’s Mary Jo Foley notes, there was talk of Microsoft axing TechEd, “the same way that the company discontinued the Microsoft Management Summit.”

I confirmed with Microsoft that the decision has no impact on Build, the company’s other developer event. That’s hardly surprising. It would have been odd to see Microsoft lower its load of developer outreach at a time when it is scrambling to grow developer mindshare in certain product categories, and preserve where it already retains buy-in.

Woman dies in Australia because of substandard USB-style charger

Australian authorities issued a warning about cheap, non-compliant USB-style chargers Friday after a young woman died from apparent electrocution while using a laptop and possibly a smart phone.
The 28-year-old was found wearing headphones and with her computer in her lap with burns on her chest and ears at a home in Gosford, north of Sydney, in April.

Police are still investigating the circumstances of the death but the Department of Fair Trading, which has assisted with the case, suggested a sub-standard mobile phone charger could be to blame.
The woman, whom reports said was from the Philippines but had recently become an Australian citizen, had headphones plugged into her laptop, which was connected to a power socket to charge.
"The phone was also plugged into a USB-style charger. That charger had failed," Lynelle Collins from the New South Wales Department of Fair Trading told AFP.

"Somehow power from that charger has connected to her body. Whether she had it (the phone) to her ear or was holding it in her hand, we don't know."
Collins said ideally people should avoid using their mobile phones while the devices were charging, but in any case they should avoid non-approved chargers.
"We are trying to alert people to the concern that sometimes when you buy really cheap chargers, they aren't compliant with... (safety) standards," she said.

Fair Trading said it had removed a number of unapproved and non-compliant USB-style chargers, travel adaptors and power boards from sale in Sydney after the death.

They said the devices did not meet essential safety requirements and were often made of inferior plastics and other insulation materials.
"These devices pose a serious risk of electrocution or fire," Fair Trading commissioner Rod Stowe said in a statement.
Maximum penalties for selling devices that fail Australian standards are Aus$87,500 (US$82,500) and/or two years imprisonment for an individual and a Aus$875,000 fine for a corporation.
The woman's death is the only known fatality in Australia potentially linked with the chargers, but a report from China in 2013 suggested a woman was electrocuted while making a call on a phone that was charging.
